Galaxy emergency call system error

Alright, tech wizards, I'm officially stumped. My 2017 Ford Galaxy, diesel engine, with a casual 243359 km on the clock, is throwing a hissy fit with its emergency call system. I'm getting an error stored in the memory, a nag message in the speedometer, AND a warning light. It's like the car's screaming for help, but I can't figure out why. Any ideas before I'm forced to sell a kidney to pay for repairs?

I also own a Ford Galaxy. I experienced a similar issue with the emergency call system. Have you checked the diagnostic codes? A fault in the telematics module may trigger such warnings.

Telematics module... Right, that sounds expensive! I haven't checked the codes myself, I don't even own a reader. Is it possible to do a system reset or something before I start digging deep into the wallet?

While a system reset may temporarily clear the warning, it is unlikely to resolve the underlying issue if it persists. Given the symptoms you describe, a defective cable or plug connection is quite probable. A professional workshop diagnosis is advisable to pinpoint the exact cause.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to the workshop as you suggested. Turns out it was a dodgy connector, just like you said. Cost me 95€ to fix. Emergency averted!
