Galaxy Gear Selection Error

Guys, I'm going crazy! My 2003 Ford Galaxy, gasoline engine, is playing up big time. Error's stored, the gear selection display is dead, cruise control is a no-go, AND sometimes it won't even start! I'm thinking it's a bad clutch pedal switch, maybe a dodgy cable or plug. Anyone else seen this madness?

Summary of the thread

A 2003 Ford Galaxy with a gasoline engine is experiencing multiple issues: a non-functional gear selection display, inoperative cruise control, and occasional starting problems. The suspected causes include a faulty clutch pedal switch or a problematic cable or plug. After consulting with a mechanic, it was confirmed that the issue was due to the clutch pedal switch cable and plug, which was resolved for 95€.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds familiar. Had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra. Gear selector went haywire. Is the error message related to the safety switch? If so, check that cable.

Safety switch, eh? Where exactly do I find that thing? Is it easy to get to?

Yep, the error message mentioned safety switch. As for the location on the Galaxy, I'm not sure. But it's worth checking before you consider a workshop. Likely it is the cable. But better be safe than sorry.

Right, thanks for the help! Mechanic confirmed it was the clutch pedal switch cable and plug. 95€ and all sorted!
