Galaxy key battery low warning

I'm experiencing a strange issue with my 2005 Ford Galaxy diesel. The car keeps displaying a 'key battery low' warning. Keyless access no longer works, and I found an error stored. Unlocking and locking the car is also becoming increasingly unreliable. I suspect the key fob battery, but I wanted to see if anyone else had similar issues before I potentially replace it.

I had a similar problem with my old Renault Megane. The symptoms sound identical – the keyless entry stopped working, and I was getting a low battery warning. In my case, it was definitely the key fob battery. Have you tried swapping out the battery yet?

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't replaced the battery yet. I wanted to be sure this could be the cause. Was the battery replacement all it took to fix the issue on your Megane?

Yes, for my Megane, replacing the battery was the only thing I had to do. However, if replacing the battery doesn't solve it, there may be a deeper issue with the key fob itself or the car's receiver. If that's the case, you might want to bring it to a workshop to get it checked out.

Just wanted to thank you for the advice. I replaced the key fob battery, and everything is working perfectly again. Cost me 37€ for the battery. Keyless entry is back, no more warnings. Thanks again!
