Galaxy Wiper Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Ford Galaxy experienced a wiper failure, with diagnostics indicating an unspecified error. The issue was suspected to be related to the wiring harness, particularly due to the presence of a rain sensor and cruise control, which share wiring. The error code B1079-15 suggested a possible short to ground or open circuit. The solution involved checking the wiring harness near the steering column and firewall, where a corroded connector was found and repaired.

Yes, it has both rain sensor and cruise control. The error code is B1079-15. What part of the rain sensor or cruise control wiring should I check? Any specific connector known to fail?

Given the rain sensor, cruise control, and B1079-15 error code, it does sound like a wiring harness issue, possibly a short to ground or an open circuit. I can't say which connector, but check the harness near the steering column and where it goes through the firewall. These areas often get damaged. A workshop visit might be best.

Thanks for the advice! The workshop found a corroded connector in the wiring harness near the steering column. Repair, including the new connector, cost 95€.

Wiper failure on the Galaxy is often the wiring harness. Does your Galaxy have the rain sensor or cruise control? These systems share wiring, and issues there can cause wiper problems. What's the error code? That might help.
