Galloper Automatic Transmission Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Hyundai Galloper diesel is experiencing unusual automatic transmission shifting and the transmission light is on, indicating it might be in emergency mode. The issue could be related to bad transmission oil or something more severe. A similar case was resolved by addressing undervoltage problems, which affected the transmission. The solution involved professional repair, including electrical parts replacement and a transmission oil change.

Actually, yes, I did see some minor voltage fluctuations before the transmission problems started. What fixed it for you?

It was undervoltage, which messed with the transmission. I had to take it to a shop. You should probably get yours checked out, sounds like the same thing.

Thanks for the tip! I took it in, and it was undervoltage causing the transmission issues. The repair, including some electrical parts and a transmission oil change, was 240€. Thanks again for the help!

I drive a Galloper too, and had a similar issue. Did you notice any undervoltage beforehand? I'm wondering if it's related.
