Galloper Preheating Lamp Error
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Hyundai Galloper with a diesel engine is experiencing a preheating lamp error that doesn't switch off, likely indicating a glow plug issue. The problem is associated with harder starting, especially in cold conditions. The suggested solution is to have the glow plugs checked and replaced at a workshop, which resolved the issue and improved the vehicle's performance.

Yeah, starting is definitely harder when it's cold. Is that what happened to you? What was the fix?

Yep, sounds like my problem. Turned out to be defective glow plugs. If the light stays on and there’s a stored error, it’s likely the same. Get it checked at a workshop; replacement isn't too difficult but requires some specialized tools.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to a workshop, and you were spot on - glow plugs were defective. Cost me 440€ to get them replaced. Runs much better now.

I had similar issues on my Galloper a while back. Are you experiencing any rough idling or difficulty starting, especially when it's cold?
