Genesis GPS No Reception
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Hyundai Genesis is experiencing GPS issues, displaying 'No GPS reception' and an error in memory. The problem may be due to a faulty GPS antenna or module. Initial checks showed no visible damage or loose connections, and no recent work was done on the car. It is recommended to have a professional workshop diagnose the issue to determine if the antenna or GPS module needs replacement.

Thanks! I've checked the antenna connection and cable visually. No obvious damage, and the cable seems seated right. No recent work either. Any other ideas before I assume the antenna is bad? Maybe signal interference?

Okay, if the connections seem solid, there's no visible damage, and no recent work, then signal interference is unlikely, though possible. It really does sound like the antenna itself is failing, or the GPS module is going bad. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop for a professional diagnosis. They have tools to properly test the antenna and GPS module. They could find the problem faster than we can here.

I appreciate the input. I'll book an appointment with a workshop to get the GPS antenna and module checked out. Based on your advice, it seems like the best thing to do. Thanks again!

Hey! I've got a Genesis too, though I'm not sure of the year. Your GPS problem sounds familiar. I had a similar issue where the GPS signal was completely absent. I'd start by checking the antenna connection first. Is it properly seated? Any visible damage to the cable or the antenna itself? Also, have you recently had any work done that might have involved disconnecting the GPS module or antenna?
