Genesis Oxygen Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Hyundai Genesis is experiencing an oxygen sensor error, leading to a check engine light and increased fuel consumption. The issue is suspected to be due to a defective cable or plug connection. It is suggested to inspect the sensor's wiring harness for damage or corrosion, as these can cause air-fuel ratio issues. Ultimately, the problem was confirmed to be a defective oxygen sensor cable, which was repaired.

Thanks. Is there a specific area or pin on the wiring harness that's known to be problematic on this model?

I can't pinpoint a specific pin issue, but a damaged connection definitely fits the symptoms. To be safe, consulting a workshop seems appropriate.

Thanks for the help. It was a defective oxygen sensor cable, as suspected. The repair cost 95€.

An aged oxygen sensor could cause those symptoms. Check the sensor's wiring harness for damage or corrosion. Air-fuel ratio issues will flag the CEL.
