Genesis Parking Aid Fault

I'm having trouble with the parking aid system on my 2009 Hyundai Genesis with a gasoline engine. The parking assistant isn't working at all, and a diagnostic scan showed an error related to it. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else experienced this parking aid fault with a Genesis?

Summary of the thread

The parking aid system on a 2009 Hyundai Genesis is not functioning, with a diagnostic scan indicating an error. The issue is suspected to be a defective cable or plug connection. The problem could be related to a faulty connection in the obstacle detection circuit, and it is advised to have a workshop diagnose and repair the issue to ensure accurate resolution.

Dude, parking sensors acting up are the worst! It's like your car suddenly loses its spatial awareness. Is it beeping like crazy, or just dead silent? Kinda sounds like a loose wire, like when your Christmas tree lights only half light up because one bulb's connection is dodgy. Have you checked the control module for any obvious corrosion or damage? And what about the rearview camera – is that working fine, or is it also throwing a tantrum?

Thanks for the quick reply. The system is completely silent. I haven't checked the control module for corrosion yet, but I will. The rearview camera seems to be working normally. Could the problem still be with the parking sensors themselves, or could it be a more central issue affecting the whole system?

Okay, silent is weird. If the camera is good, the main module is probably okay too. Since you mentioned the error code and possible wiring issue, yeah, it really does sound like a faulty connection somewhere in the obstacle detection circuit. Honestly, chasing down electrical gremlins can be a huge pain. Unless you're super confident with a multimeter, you might save yourself a headache by taking it to a workshop. They can pinpoint the exact faulty wiring and fix it right. Just a thought!

I appreciate your insights. Given the potential complexity, I've decided to take your advice and book an appointment with a workshop. They quoted an estimated repair cost of 95€, which seems reasonable. Thanks again for the help.
