Getz diesel error due to dirty sensor
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Hyundai Getz diesel was experiencing error messages and warning lights, suspected to be caused by a radar sensor issue. The problem was likely due to a dirty sensor, which can affect various systems. Cleaning the sensor with a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water was suggested as a solution. After cleaning, the errors were resolved, confirming the initial suspicion of a dirty sensor.

I haven't pulled the codes yet, will do that tomorrow. I did have a quick look at the sensor, didn't see anything obvious. If it is just dirt, is there a specific cleaner I should use, or just a wipe with a cloth?

I'd recommend against using any harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. A soft, lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water is usually sufficient for cleaning automotive sensors. However, if the error persists even after cleaning, it might indicate a deeper problem within the sensor itself or the associated wiring. Given the symptoms you're describing, and without knowing the specific error codes, it's difficult to pinpoint the exact cause remotely. Probably best to get it to a workshop.

Thanks for the advice. You were spot on, turned out to be a dirty sensor. Quick clean and all the errors cleared. Cost me 45€ at the workshop. Appreciate the help!

Sounds like a sensor malfunction. Radar sensors are pretty sensitive. Have you checked for any obvious dirt or damage on the sensor itself? Sometimes a simple cleaning can resolve the issue. What diagnostic codes are you pulling from the error memory? Knowing the specific code would help narrow down the possibilities. Also, which systems are being affected?
