Getz intake manifold issue
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Hyundai Getz diesel is experiencing reduced power, rough running, jerking during acceleration, a loud hissing noise, and increased fuel consumption. The suspected cause is a faulty intake manifold flap control, confirmed by another owner with similar issues. The solution involved taking the car to a mechanic, who identified and fixed a defective intake manifold control switch.

Yeah, the engine light's on. Did you ever figure out what it was?

Turns out it was the intake manifold. Sound familiar? I ended up taking mine to a workshop. Best bet, really. Saved me a lot of hassle!

Thanks for the advice. Took it to a mechanic and you were spot on. Defective intake manifold control switch. Cost me 465€ to get it sorted.

Oh, that sounds familiar! I have a Getz, and I had similar symptoms a while back. Engine light was on, air intake seemed like it wasn't working right, and engine performance was terrible. Was your engine light on?
