Getz Overheating Fan Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2004 diesel Getz is experiencing overheating issues due to a non-functional electric radiator fan, despite adequate coolant levels. The problem is suspected to be electrical, possibly involving a bad cable or plug to the fan motor. A suggestion to check the fan relay was made, but the issue was ultimately resolved by fixing a faulty connection, restoring the cooling system to normal function.

Thanks. I haven't checked the relay yet, but the fuses look good. Where was the relay in your Astra, and how did you figure out the problem?

On my Astra, the relay was in the fuse box in the engine bay. But, it can get tricky, so if you're not sure, get it checked out by a pro. Could save you from making things worse.

Thanks for the tip. It turned out to be a dodgy connection. Cost 95€ to fix, and the cooling system's back to normal.

Sounds like what happened with my 2008 Opel Astra. The engine temp would rise fast, especially when idling or driving slow. Did you check the fan relay?
