Getz overvoltage issue

I'm having an electrical issue with my 2003 Hyundai Getz (gasoline engine) at 136529 km. It's detecting overvoltage, triggering fault memory entries. Systems are failing, the battery is weak on starts, and there are general electrical malfunctions. I think it's a discharged or defective battery. Has anyone else had similar overvoltage problems in their Getz?

Summary of the thread

A 2003 Hyundai Getz is experiencing electrical issues, including overvoltage detection, weak battery starts, and system malfunctions. The problem may stem from a discharged or defective battery. A suggested solution is to check and possibly replace the voltage regulator and battery, as similar issues were resolved by doing so.

I had something similar happen in my Getz. Constant electrical gremlins, battery draining overnight... Did you check the voltage regulator?

Thanks. I hadn't focused on the voltage regulator yet. Was your issue consistently showing overvoltage codes, or were there other codes too?

Yes, overvoltage codes were definitely part of it. Honestly, diagnosing car electronics is a pain. I ended up taking it to a workshop, and they replaced the battery and regulator. Problem solved.

Appreciate the confirmation and advice. A new battery and voltage regulator fixed it. Final repair cost was 290€. Thanks again!
