Getz poor starting and stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Hyundai Getz diesel is experiencing poor starting and occasional stalling when idling, with the check engine light illuminated. The issue may be related to a faulty camshaft sensor or encoder wheel. It is suggested to read the error code to identify the problem accurately and then consult a mechanic to check and possibly replace the sensor and encoder wheel.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Thanks! I haven't read the error code yet. I was hoping to get some opinions before heading to a mechanic. Did replacing the sensor fix your Opel, or was there more to it?

For me, the error code pointed directly to the camshaft sensor. Replacing it solved the issue temporarily, but the root cause was a defective encoder wheel on camshafts. So, the sensor failed again. You may want to visit the workshop.

Okay, that’s really helpful to know. I'll get the error code read and then take it to a workshop to have the sensor and the encoder wheel checked. I will post what happens after the repair. Thanks!

I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra, but it had a gasoline engine. Car stalling and check engine light were the main symptoms. Have you tried getting the error code read? That would be the first step.
