When you say 'gunked up,' do you mean a clog within the pump or the reservoir Is the electrical connection prone to corrosion, causing an intermittent fault I'm wondering if cleaning will work before replacing it.

Yeah, I meant a clog in the pump. I wouldn't rule out corrosion on the contacts. It's worth a look, but those pumps aren't made to last forever. If you've checked the fuses and the connections are clean, it might just be time for a new pump. A workshop visit is best.

I appreciate the insights. The garden hose analogy was helpful. I inspected the connections and hoses, and found no obvious issues. I'll schedule a workshop appointment to diagnose the pump. I'm grateful for the assistance; it's provided a valuable direction. The issue was the pump, and the total repair cost was 165€ as suspected.

I had a similar issue on my GLA. Check the pump itself. Sometimes they get gunked up, like a garden hose left out in the sun. The hose could be kinked or blocked. Before spending money, see if you can hear the pump working. If not, it's likely electrical or the pump motor.
