GLA Hybrid Parking Assist System Problem

The diagnostic report doesn't specify a sensor location, just a generic 'parking aid fault' with a possible cable or plug issue. Given your BMW radar sensor experience, can you explain the diagnostic process you used to find the faulty sensor Also, what's the use of proximity sensors and blind spot sensors in the parking assist system

With my BMW, the errors were inconsistent. Sometimes it worked, sometimes not. I didn't diagnose it myself. I took it to a workshop and they used their diagnostic tools to isolate the faulty radar sensor. Proximity sensors detect how close you are to objects while parking. Blind spot sensors are more for driving, alerting you to cars in your blind spot, but they might feed into the parking assist system too, working alongside the radar sensors. If the diagnostic isn't specific, it might be tricky to find the exact problem yourself. Maybe it's best to get it checked out to avoid wasting time and money on the wrong part.

I appreciate your insights. Based on your recommendation and the lack of specific error codes, I'll schedule an appointment at a certified workshop for a comprehensive diagnostic assessment. It seems prudent to entrust this to professionals with specialized tools and expertise. The estimated repair cost of 95€ appears reasonable, considering the potential complexity.

That's a bummer. I had a similar problem with my old BMW 3 series. The parking sensors went haywire. It turned out to be a faulty radar sensor, which is one of the proximity sensors. Is the error message giving you a specific sensor location or code
