GLC Active Hood Fault and Airbag Light Issue

My 2020 Mercedes GLC, gasoline engine, displays an Active hood fault message. The airbag warning lamp is illuminated, and error memory indicates triggered spring actuators. I suspect a defective acceleration sensor for a crash detection/pedestrian safety system fault. Estimated repair cost: 315€. Has anyone experienced similar issues with the impact sensor or hood latch?

I had a similar issue with my GLC. Same active hood fault message and airbag light. Did the error memory also point to a specific sensor, or just the general system fault? Was there any event that might have triggered it, like a hard bump or something?

The error memory indicates a faulty acceleration sensor. No apparent trigger event. Did yours require sensor replacement or was it wiring related?

Mine required sensor replacement. The diagnostic pointed directly at the impact sensor. If the error is specific and the spring actuators have fired, it's probably not a wiring issue. I would suggest getting it properly diagnosed at a workshop to confirm. These systems are important for pedestrian safety.

Confirmed: acceleration sensor replacement rectified the active hood fault. The pedestrian safety system is now functioning nominally. Thank you for the insights.
