GLC Diesel Water Sensor Issue

The car diagnostics report didn't explicitly identify a particular sensor, only indicating a general water sensor malfunction. The diagnostic trouble code refers to a fault in the sensor circuit. You mentioned corrosion on the connector; could you elaborate on the location of this connector, and whether its inspection is readily accessible without specialized equipment

In my case, the connector was located near the bottom of the engine, somewhat obscured by other components, therefore not easily accessible. While a visual inspection might reveal obvious corrosion, thorough cleaning and proper reconnection, or ultimately, connector replacement, will likely require specialized tools and expertise. Given your symptoms and the diagnostic trouble code, it seems prudent to seek professional car diagnostics at a qualified workshop. Attempting repairs without proper knowledge could exacerbate the issue.

Based on our exchange, I will schedule an appointment with a trusted workshop for a comprehensive assessment and subsequent repair. The issue was indeed a corroded connector, as suspected. Replacement of the faulty connector resolved the malfunction, the malfunction indicator lamp is now off, and the engine runs smoothly. Thank you for your contribution.

I own a GLC as well, and that sounds awfully familiar. I had almost identical symptoms a while back – check engine light, rough idling. My car diagnostics pointed towards a similar moisture sensor issue. Did your diagnostic tool specify which sensor is acting up In my situation, it turned out to be corrosion on the connector leading to the sensor. Are you experiencing any other electrical oddities in conjunction with this sensor problem
