GLC electronic parking brake problem

Experiencing an electronic parking brake malfunction on my 2015 Mercedes GLC with a diesel engine. The car has approximately 100575 km on the clock. The electronic handbrake is completely non-functional. I've run brake diagnostics and the error memory is storing a fault. The parking brake warning light is illuminated. My assessment points towards a defective electric motor within the brake calliper itself. I'm anticipating a repair cost of around 505€. Has anyone else encountered a similar brake failure with their GLC? Any insights into this system glitch would be appreciated.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my GLC's parking brake. Is it completely dead, or does it sometimes work intermittently?

It's completely dead, unfortunately. No intermittent function whatsoever. Just a persistent error and warning light. Was your issue also related to the electric motor in the calliper, or did it turn out to be something else?

Yep, sounds like the electric motor in the calliper. Mine was the same, completely dead. Best bet is to get it checked out at a workshop. They can confirm the diagnosis and get it sorted. Could save you some headaches.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions and sharing your experience. It's helpful to know someone else encountered the same issue. I'll book it in for a professional diagnosis and repair as suggested. Hopefully, replacing the motor resolves the problem.
