GLC Error Code Nightmare Help

I've got a bit of a head-scratcher with my 2015 Mercedes GLC with a gasoline engine. The thing has clocked 287738 km. I'm getting an error message popping up in both the infotainment system and the speedometer. Naturally, the engine light is on. I plugged in my diagnostic scanner, and sure enough, there's an error stored in the error memory. I'm no expert, but the scan tool is pointing towards incorrect vehicle coding as the likely culprit. Has anyone else run into something similar? I'm trying to avoid an arm and a leg repair bill if possible.

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had almost the exact same issue with my GLC. The error messages were driving me nuts! I also thought it was a coding thing. Did your diagnostic scanner give you a specific OBD-II code? Knowing that might help narrow things down. It's frustrating when the engine diagnostics light comes on isn't it?

Yeah, it's a pain! I'll have to double-check the exact code when I get a chance. But what did you end up doing to fix yours? Was it actually a coding issue, or something else entirely?

Okay, so mine turned out to be a coding problem, yeah! It was weird. I tried a few things myself, but honestly, I just ended up taking it to a workshop. They sorted it out pretty quickly. I think they just re-flashed something. I wouldn't mess around with it too much yourself, you could make it worse. Better leave it to the pros in this case.

Thanks for the advice! I checked the code again and you were right, it's pointing towards a coding issue. I took it to the workshop as you suggested. Turns out the coding was indeed incorrect, they recoded it, and the error is gone. Cost me 360€, but at least it's fixed. Appreciate the help!
