GLC SRS Light On Airbag System Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Mercedes GLC displayed an SRS light indicating an airbag system failure, with diagnostics suggesting a cable or plug connection issue with a crash sensor. The problem was not related to any recall or airbag deployment. It was advised to avoid DIY repairs due to the complexity and safety concerns of airbag systems. The issue was resolved at a workshop, where a defective plug connection was repaired, eliminating the SRS light.

The diagnostic report specifically mentions a faulty connection to a crash sensor. Is this something you'd recommend attempting to fix myself, or is it best left to a workshop?

I'd advise against DIY airbag repair. My issue ended up being a corroded connector, but it took a specialist to diagnose it properly and ensure the airbag system was functioning correctly afterward. Better safe than sorry when it comes to airbag deployment. A defective cable could have unintended consequences.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to a workshop and they found a defective plug connection as suspected. Repair cost was 95€. At least the SRS light is gone now.

I had a similar issue with my Mercedes a while back. The SRS light kept coming on. Was it a specific crash sensor that the diagnostics flagged? Knowing that might help narrow down the possibilities. Could also be related to the seat occupancy sensor. Airbag repair can be tricky.
