A frozen windshield washer system on a Mercedes GLC is indeed a frustrating predicament, and I recall encountering similar issues. Initial diagnostic procedures should involve a comprehensive examination of the relevant electrical schematics, specifically focusing on the power supply to the windshield washer heater element. Have you inspected the fuse box for any blown fuses associated with the windshield wipers and washer system? Furthermore, confirm the integrity of the wiring harness and connector leading to the heater element. A defective cable or plug connection seems plausible. Have you tested the voltage at the connector when the system is activated?

Fuse box that's a good shout I haven't checked that yet Where exactly is the fuse for the windshield wipers and the heater And how do I test the voltage at the connector

The fuse allocation for the windshield washer system in the Mercedes GLC can typically be found documented within the owner's manual, specifically in the section pertaining to fuse assignments. Alternatively, the fuse box cover may also contain a diagram. Regarding voltage testing, a digital multimeter is requisite. With the vehicle ignition in the 'on' position and the windshield washer system activated, probe the connector terminals with the multimeter leads. An absence of voltage, or a voltage reading significantly deviating from the nominal voltage (typically 12V), would suggest a fault in the electrical circuit. It is however advisable to visit a qualified workshop.

Okay, I appreciate the help. It turned out it was exactly what I initially suspected – a corroded connector. A local mechanic charged me 95€ to fix the cable and plug connection. All good now!
