GLE diesel engine check engine light issue
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Mercedes GLE with a diesel engine had a check engine light issue, suspected to be due to an aged oxygen sensor, as indicated by higher fuel consumption. A faulty cable or plug connection was considered a possible cause. After professional diagnosis, it was confirmed that a faulty connection to the oxygen sensor was the problem, which was repaired, resolving the issue.

Interesting How did you pinpoint the faulty sensor Was it obvious, or did you need special tools to diagnose it

It wasn't obvious My mechanic used a diagnostic tool to read the sensor data The readings were erratic, indicating a problem Given your symptoms, I'd suggest getting it checked professionally Better safe than sorry with these complex systems

Thanks a lot for the advice I took it to a workshop, and you were right – it was indeed a faulty connection to the oxygen sensor Repair cost was 95€, and now everything is working smoothly again

I had a similar issue with my GLE Check engine light illuminated, and fuel efficiency took a nosedive An automotive sensor related to the catalytic converter was faulty Have you checked the air-fuel ratio A bad connection could definitely be the problem
