GLE Diesel Height Control Issue

My 2021 Mercedes GLE diesel is showing a 'Height control restricted' warning. Mileage is at 132672 km. I've noticed the low beams seem off, and the ride feels bumpy. I also observed the vehicle sitting unevenly. Error memory shows a fault. Could a defective control rod on the sensor be the problem?

Oh man, that sounds frustrating! I had a somewhat similar automotive suspension issue with my GLE. I was going crazy trying to figure out what was going on. The air suspension seemed totally messed up and the ride height was all over the place. Was the ride especially bad? Mine felt like I was driving a truck. Did you check the control module for any other weird errors besides the height control one? It could be multiple things acting up together!

The ride is definitely bumpier than usual. As for the control module, I haven't gone deeper than reading the primary error code related to the air suspension. Did you end up pinpointing the control rod as the culprit in your case or was it something else?

You know what, it really does sound similar. Initially, I hoped it was just a glitch, but the bumpy ride and the suspension issue persisted. In the end, the workshop diagnosed a defective control rod, which caused the air suspension to act erratically. Given your symptoms, I'd seriously consider getting it checked out by a professional. These automotive suspension systems can be tricky!

Thanks for the info. Took it to the shop, and you were spot on. Defective control rod. Repair cost 110€. Ride height is back to normal and no more warnings.
