GLE Hybrid Electronic Parking Brake Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Mercedes GLE Hybrid experienced a failure in its electronic parking brake, indicated by a warning light and error memory fault. A possible cause suggested was a faulty brake sensor or a defective electric motor in the brake calliper. The recommended solution was to have a workshop inspect and potentially replace the electric motor, which resolved the issue.

Thanks for the tip. Where is the brake sensor located? Is it easy to check myself, or should I take it to a garage?

Honestly, it's best left to a workshop. The brake sensor is usually integrated into the brake calliper, so it's not something you can easily get to. I ended up having to replace the electric motor in the brake calliper, as that was the problem for me. It definitely impacts vehicle safety, so don't take any chances. If it is the motor, expect around 500€ for the repair. It's a pain, but necessary.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop and it was indeed the electric motor in the brake calliper that was defective. They replaced it and the error is gone. Cost me 505€, exactly as you predicted. I appreciate the help.

That sounds frustrating. I had a similar issue with my GLE. Have you checked the brake sensor? Sometimes a faulty sensor can cause the electronic brake to malfunction. It's like a light switch not working because the wire is loose.
