GLE Hybrid Stalling Engine Issue Resolved
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Mercedes GLE hybrid experienced stalling at idle and a check engine light, with an idle air control (IAC) valve error. A possible cause was identified as a dirty throttle body or contaminated intake affecting airflow. The issue was resolved by cleaning the intake, which smoothed the engine idle.

When you say contaminated intake what do you mean Can I check that myself or does it require special tools I'm not sure where the IAC valve is located on this engine

By contaminated intake, I mean buildup of gunk affecting airflow. It's tricky to diagnose without proper equipment. Given the error code and symptoms, it's likely the issue. I'd suggest getting it checked by a workshop.

Thanks I took it to a local shop, and you were right. The intake was heavily contaminated, affecting the IAC valve. They cleaned everything, and the engine idle is smooth now. The total repair cost was around 425€. I appreciate the help

I have a GLE, not the hybrid. I had a similar issue with stalling at idle and a check engine light. It could be a contaminated intake affecting the IAC valve. Have you checked that?
