GLE sun blind problem
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Mercedes GLE owner is experiencing a sun blind issue where it is stuck and not functioning properly, with an error indicating a fault. The problem is suspected to be related to the motor. Before proceeding with repairs, it is suggested to check the power supply, such as fuses or connections, as these could be simple fixes. However, if the power supply is intact, the motor may need replacement, and consulting a workshop for a professional repair is advised.

Thanks for the tip. I will give this a check. Just wondering, was your sunshade repair similar to a full replacement in the end, or did you manage a simpler fix once you addressed the power issue?

Unfortunately, after chasing the power supply, it turned out the motor itself was toast. I'd recommend you get a quote from a reputable workshop. Seems 330€ would be the total cost. Could be worth it for the peace of mind and proper sun protection.

Thanks for the info. Voltage was fine, so it looks like the motor is indeed the culprit. I booked it in for the sunshade repair. Your experience helped me confirm my diagnosis before I started pulling things apart unnecessarily.

Sounds familiar! I've got a GLE too, and had almost the exact same problem with the sun blind last year. Before you go ripping into it, check the power supply to the motor. It might be a simple fuse or a loose connection. Saved me a lot of hassle. Is the sun visor completely jammed or does it twitch a bit?
