GLE Tire Pressure Sensor Fault

My 2015 Mercedes GLE hybrid is throwing some codes. The main issue is a persistent tire pressure sensor fault. The system reports that the tire pressure is too low, even after I've inflated them to the correct pressure. This triggers an error message right in the speedometer display, which is distracting. I pulled the codes and there's definitely an error stored related to the TPMS. I'm suspecting the sensor battery is probably dead after all these years. Has anyone else run into this sort of sensor fault on their GLE? Is it as simple as replacing the sensor and making sure the air valve is ok, plus a tire check?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar TPMS issue on my GLE. Those sensors don't last forever. Before you go too far, are you sure you're using the correct tire inflation pressures? Sometimes a slight deviation can trigger the system. Also, are all four tires showing the same low pressure reading, or just one?

Good point about the tire inflation pressure. I double checked the sticker on the door and the pressures match what I've been using. As for the readings, it's not just one tire, but all of them are showing slightly lower than expected. That's why I'm leaning towards a faulty sensor rather than an actual leak in all four tires simultaneously. Do you recall if your issue presented the same way?

Yep, that's exactly how mine went. All tires reporting low, even after inflating. Given that it's all of them, and you've verified the pressure, it's almost certainly the sensor. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop to get them checked and replaced. I think you're on the right track that the batteries are probably done. I ended up paying around 280€ for the replacement and reprogramming.

Thanks for confirming that. Sounds like I'm on the right track then. I'll book it into the workshop to get the sensors replaced and the system reprogrammed. Appreciate the insight!
