GLK Check Engine Light and Power Loss

I haven't checked the pressure sensor yet, but I can. Where is it located? And is it difficult to replace? I haven't pulled the codes yet, but I will and post them. I'm not a mechanic, so I'm not sure how to interpret them. Could a bad wastegate really cause all of these symptoms?

Yes, a faulty wastegate can definitely lead to those symptoms. If it's stuck open, you'll lose boost pressure and experience a significant drop in performance. I would suggest taking it to a trusted workshop. I ended up paying around 860€ for the repair, which included replacing the wastegate valve. It might be worth getting a professional diagnosis before throwing parts at it.

Thanks for the advice. I pulled the codes and did some more research. It does seem like the wastegate is the most likely culprit. I'm taking it to a shop tomorrow. Hopefully, it won't cost me too much. Appreciate the help!

That sounds remarkably similar to an issue I had with my GLK. I also experienced a loss of power and odd noises. Have you checked the boost pressure sensor? A faulty reading there can cause all sorts of problems with the turbocharger and boost control. What codes are you getting from the check engine light? That information would be very helpful in diagnosing the issue.
