GLK Check Engine Rough Idling Fuel Woes
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Mercedes GLK is experiencing issues with the check engine light on, rough idling, and reduced engine power. The suspected cause is a defective fuel volume regulator, possibly due to a failing high-pressure fuel pump. The problem was confirmed at a workshop, where replacing the high-pressure fuel pump and addressing the defective fuel volume regulator resolved the issues, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Yes, the fuel efficiency has definitely decreased. Did replacing the high pressure fuel pump solve your issue, and did you notice any other symptoms before it failed completely?

I didn't do the work myself, but yes, replacing the high pressure pump fixed it. It's best to get it checked at a workshop. Could be other things too.

Thanks for the info. I took it to the workshop. The high pressure fuel pump was indeed the culprit, and the fuel volume regulator was defective. The repair cost 1510€. Runs like new now.

Sounds familiar. I have a GLK too. Had similar check engine and rough idling issues. Suspect your fuel injection system. Was fuel efficiency impacted?
