GLK cold start rough idle issue
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Mercedes GLK is experiencing rough idling and misfiring during cold starts, which smooths out as the engine warms up. The issue may be related to fuel injection problems, as suggested by another owner who faced similar symptoms due to a faulty injector. It is recommended to conduct a professional injector test and fuel system evaluation to diagnose and resolve the problem effectively.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I have not observed any significant changes in fuel efficiency, nor have I detected any unusual smells. Could you elaborate on how you diagnosed the issue and what steps you took to resolve it? I am trying to determine if an injector test is the next logical step.

I didn't do the test myself. Honestly, I was as frustrated as you probably are now, and I took it straight to a workshop. They ran an injector test and confirmed one was bad. It’s probably best to get it checked professionally to be sure.

I appreciate your recommendation. I will schedule an appointment with my trusted workshop to perform a comprehensive injector test and fuel system evaluation. Following the diagnosis, I will proceed with the necessary repairs, which I anticipate will cost around 515€. Thank you again for your assistance.

I have a GLK as well, and I went through something similar last year. Rough idling on cold starts, almost stalling sometimes. Turned out to be a fuel delivery problem traced to one of the injectors. It was a pain! Have you noticed any change in fuel efficiency or any unusual smells?
