GLK Cylinder Misfire

Has anyone dealt with combustion misfires on a 2011 GLK with a Gasoline engine? I had a similar issue on my old Volvo. Rough running, check engine light, the whole deal. Did you check the ignition coils? What's the throttle response like?

I haven't specifically tested the ignition coils, but I did pull the codes and it's pointing towards combustion misfires on multiple cylinders. Could a single bad coil cause that? Throttle response is definitely sluggish, especially when the engine is cold.

Multiple cylinder misfires could point to a few things. While a single bad ignition coil can definitely cause misfires, multiple misfires usually indicate a problem that's affecting the whole engine or at least a bank of cylinders. Given the sluggish throttle response, I'd lean towards a fuel delivery issue, potentially a defective fuel injector or injectors. You'd be best served taking it to a qualified workshop for diagnostics.

I appreciate the insight. I took your advice and brought it in. Turns out it was indeed a faulty fuel injector. Replaced the injector and the engine is running smoothly again. Total cost was 515€.
