GLK diesel transfer case in limp mode

My 2015 Mercedes GLK diesel is acting up It's got 102143 km on it and the transfer case seems to be in limp mode The gearbox is slipping and shifting really rough I suspect it might be related to some issues with the ABS system Has anyone experienced something similar

Sounds familiar I had a similar issue with my GLK though the specifics might be slightly different The transmission issues you're describing along with the transfer case going into limp mode and the potential ABS link point to a possible powertrain malfunction Has the 'powertrain malfunction' light come on Also is the torque converter locking and unlocking smoothly or is it jerky

Yes the powertrain malfunction light is on How would i know the smoothness of the torque converter locking and unlocking

The powertrain malfunction light confirms it As for the torque converter you'd feel it as a shudder or excessive vibration during gear changes especially at lower speeds Honestly given the limp mode and the potential ABS connection you mentioned I'd strongly advise getting it checked by a qualified mechanic It's complex enough to warrant a professional diagnosis It is very difficult to diagnose using Internet searches

Thank you for the insight I took it to the shop and you were right – it was a consequential fault in the ABS system that put the transfer case in limp home mode They cleared the codes and applied new software The final repair cost was 0€ because it was a software issue and a quick fix
