GLK Fuel Pump Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Mercedes GLK is experiencing starting issues, stalling at idle, a persistent check engine light, rough running, and excessive fuel consumption. The problem is suspected to be related to the fuel pump, possibly due to a bad connection like a frayed wire or loose plug. Suggestions include checking the fuel injector relay and considering professional diagnostics. Ultimately, the issue was identified as a faulty connection at the fuel pump, which was resolved by a mechanic.

Fuel injector relay, huh? I hadn't considered that. Where exactly is that located? And if it was the relay, wouldn't that throw a different code than a fuel pump error?

On my Corsa it was in the engine compartment fuse box. I am not sure for your Mercedes. As for the error code, maybe, maybe not. Could be worth checking before spending a fortune. But honestly, with those symptoms, I would suggest taking it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose it.

Thanks for the advice! You were right, it was more complicated than I thought. Took it to a mechanic, and it turned out to be a faulty connection at the fuel pump, just like I suspected! Repair cost was only 95€. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I once had a similar issue with my old Opel Corsa. Engine stalling, check engine light, the whole shebang. Have you checked the fuel injector relay? Could that be causing the issue, maybe even before condemning the pump itself?
