GLK Headlight Range Control Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Mercedes GLK owner reported a headlight range control fault, suspecting a defective servomotor as the cause of misaligned low beams. Possible causes discussed included electrical connectors, the control module, or the servomotor itself. After inspecting and cleaning corroded electrical connectors, the issue appeared resolved, with the auto-leveling system functioning correctly and the error message disappearing. A workshop check was planned to ensure the problem was fully addressed.

When you say headlight adjustment, do you mean the manual adjustment screws or something related to the auto-leveling system? Did you have an error message, or just a visual symptom? Did the light intensity change? Any details are appreciated.

I meant the auto-leveling system and the error message was the same as yours. I'm not an expert, but if unsure, get it checked by a mechanic for a proper diagnosis.

I inspected the electrical connectors and found corrosion. After cleaning, the auto-leveling seems fine, and the error message is gone. The servomotor seems okay. I'll still have it checked at a workshop to be certain.

I had a similar issue on my GLK where the headlights pointed all over the place. It was a problem with the headlight adjustment. Check if yours are aligned before replacing parts. Did your light intensity also change?
