GLK key fob battery issue

My 2012 Mercedes GLK with a gasoline engine is throwing a fit about the key battery being low. I'm getting the warning on the dash, and the keyless access is completely dead. Plus, there's an error stored in the error memory when I scanned it. Locking and unlocking are also acting up – sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I'm pretty sure it's just the battery in the electronic key being empty, but I wanted to see if anyone else has run into this before I go replacing things. It's just a car key, right? A standard key fob issue? I was estimating around 37€ for the fix. Any thoughts?

Dude, that sounds super familiar! I had almost the exact same thing happen with my GLK. The 'low voltage' warning drove me nuts. Keyless entry went kaput, and I was fighting with the doors all the time. Honestly, I thought the whole auto key system was failing. Was a real pain!

Seriously? You had the same symptoms? Did replacing the battery in the car key actually fix it, or was there something else going on? How much voltage are we talking about in these key fobs anyways?

Yep, pretty much identical! Replacing the battery in the key fob sorted it right out. I was expecting some crazy electronic key issue, but it was just a simple battery. If it's still acting up after a fresh battery, then maybe think about a visit to the workshop.

Okay, awesome! Thanks for the info! I replaced the battery in the electronic key, and everything is back to normal. Keyless entry works, no more warnings, and the doors are behaving. Really appreciate the help!
