GLK Turn Signal Electrical Anomaly

My 2015 Mercedes GLK diesel has a turn signal malfunction. The error memory recorded the incident, and the speedometer displays an error. There's an obvious fault in the lighting. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection to the signal lamp unit. The projected lamp replacement and electrical fault repair is about 95€. Has anyone experienced something similar, perhaps from a broken lens or other electrical fault?

I had something similar on my GLK, though I didn't see a broken lens. The turn signal acted weird, and I got a warning light. Did you check the bulb itself? Sometimes it's just a simple lamp replacement. Also, did you wiggle the wires connected to the lamp? Maybe it's just a loose connection.

You mentioned a similar incident. Could you elaborate on the specific symptoms you observed? Did the error message also implicate a broader electrical fault, or was it solely focused on the turn signal lamp? I'm trying to see if the issue is localized to the lamp assembly itself or a more pervasive electrical problem.

Yeah, the error message was definitely about the turn signal. The bulb looked fine to me, but I'm no expert. Wiggling the wires didn't do anything either. Honestly, after messing with it for a bit, I just took it to a workshop. They sorted it out pretty quick. Probably best to have a professional look at it.

I appreciate your insights. I shall heed your advice and entrust the matter to a qualified workshop. It appears a prudent course of action to ensure the integrity of the electrical system. The final invoice was 95€ as initially estimated, and the defective cable was replaced.
