Glow Plug Issue

My 2019 Peugeot 2008 diesel has 152995 km. The preheating lamp doesn't extinguish after starting, and diagnostics show a glow plug system error. I suspect a defective glow plug. Has anyone else seen this? Could this affect engine combustion, causing misfires or cold start issues?
