GLS Cruise Control Issue

I had a similar issue with my old BMW 5 series. Cruise control went haywire and threw an error. In my case, the problem was traced back to a faulty actuator connection near the steering wheel. Car electronics can be sensitive. Check the wiring and plugs associated with the cruise control actuator, especially around the steering wheel. A loose or corroded connection can definitely cause a malfunction. Is the error message persistent, or does it come and go?

Okay, persistent is not good. I am not going to recommend you start disassembling the steering wheel. Modern systems are pretty integrated. The steering wheel contains a number of components, and without proper tools and knowledge, you might trigger the airbag or damage something else. Based on your description, and the fact that the error is persistent, I would suggest taking it to a workshop to have the car electronics checked. I know it's not the answer you were looking for, but it's the safest one. They should be able to pinpoint the faulty system quickly.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to the workshop. Turns out it was a defective plug connection, just like I suspected. They charged me 95€ to fix it. Appreciate the help!
