GLS Diesel Automatic Transmission Problem

My Mercedes GLS diesel is acting up. It's a 2023 model. The automatic transmission is throwing a fit. Shifting is jerky, the transmission light is on, and it feels like it's stuck in emergency mode. Could it be the hydraulic fluid?

I had similar transmission problems with my GLS. Check for undervoltage. A weak battery can cause all sorts of weird issues with the automatic gearbox. Has the battery been tested?

Undervoltage, huh? Interesting. I haven't checked the battery specifically. Would low voltage really mess with the automatic transmission like that? Is it a common thing for these cars?

Yes, low voltage can definitely cause implausible shifting behavior. The electronic control unit for the automatic transmission is sensitive. If it's not getting the correct voltage, it can throw codes and put the transmission in limp mode. Check the voltage and get it properly diagnosed at a workshop if needed.

Thanks for the tip! Turns out you were spot on. The workshop found undervoltage was the culprit. Cost me 240€ to sort out. Appreciate the help!
