GLS Diesel Ignition Problem Resolved

My 2016 Mercedes GLS diesel won't start I'm getting a 'Terminal 15 ignition positive interrupted' error Mileage is 196381 km Engine cranks, but no ignition I'm thinking it's a power supply issue, maybe affecting the starter solenoid or the relay switch I've checked the ignition switch itself, seems okay Error memory points to a defective cable or plug connection Has anyone seen this before Where should I be focusing my attention before I'm forced to spend 95€

Summary of the thread

A 2016 Mercedes GLS diesel faced a starting issue, displaying a 'Terminal 15 ignition positive interrupted' error. The engine cranked but wouldn't start, suggesting a potential power supply issue, possibly involving the starter solenoid or relay switch. The problem was traced to a corroded connector, which was resolved at a workshop for 95€. Cleaning ground connections and checking for loose wires were suggested as initial troubleshooting steps.

Sounds familiar I had a similar problem with my GLS, although I don't recall the exact error code Did you check the main power supply to the engine control unit Sometimes a loose connection there can cause weird ignition issues Have you tried wiggling the wires around the starter solenoid while someone attempts to start the car Also, have you verified the ground connections are clean and tight

Wiggling the wires, huh Interesting And the ground connections I glanced at them, but didn't really give them a proper cleaning Is it really that sensitive I mean, would a slightly corroded ground cause a complete no-start situation

Yes, a bad ground can absolutely cause a no-start Modern cars are incredibly sensitive to voltage drops As for the wiggling, it's a quick and dirty test to see if you have a broken wire internally However, if you are getting an ignition positive error, I would strongly recommend a visit to the workshop before you start throwing parts at it They have the right tools to properly diagnose the electrical system

Cleaning the ground connections didn't do it Ended up taking it to the shop As suspected, it was a corroded connector They charged me 95€, but at least it's fixed Appreciate the help
