GLS Hybrid Check Engine Light and Fuel Consumption

Has anyone experienced check engine light and fuel issues on a 2020 GLS Hybrid

Sounds familiar I had a similar problem with my GLS, though mine's not a hybrid. Check engine light popping on, and the fuel consumption went through the roof. It ended up being the O2 sensor, or exhaust sensor as some call it. Did you pull the error code? Knowing that would really help narrow things down. Also, how's the car running otherwise? Any rough idling or hesitation?

Thanks for the quick reply The error code points to the oxygen sensor being aged. I haven't noticed any rough idling, but I did see something about the cable or plug connection being defective as a possible cause. Any experience with that?

Ah, 'aged' O2 sensor yeah, that's pretty vague. The cable or plug thing Definitely a possibility Those connectors are exposed to all sorts of crud and heat. It's worth checking before you just slap a new sensor in. But honestly, it's probably just time for a new O2 sensor. They do wear out. If you're not comfortable poking around with a multimeter, I'd take it to a workshop. A bad O2 sensor messes with the air-fuel ratio and can kill your catalytic converter. That gets seriously expensive

Thanks a lot for the advice I took it to the workshop, and you were right - it was a defective connection at the oxygen sensor. They fixed the plug, and the error is gone. Cost me 95€. I really appreciate the help
