GLS Power Windows Not Working

My 2017 Mercedes GLS diesel has a problem the power windows are completely dead I checked and there's an error stored related to the window control I'm thinking it might be the power window switch itself that's gone bad Has anyone else had this kind of issue I'm trying to avoid a huge bill but if it ends up being the whole window regulator assembly what am I looking at Any thoughts before I resign myself to the repair shop and a 200€ bill

Thanks for the quick response I hadn't thought about the window track itself Is there a way to easily check that or am I better off just taking it in And no there's absolutely no noise when I try to use the window control It's like the whole system is just dead Was yours completely silent too

Given that you hear no noise it does sound quite similar to the problem I encountered I would advise that you take it to a qualified mechanic for diagnosis I'm not qualified to offer an in depth diagnostic process and the problem could be more complex than a simple obstruction in the window track It might be the regulator motor the window regulator itself or even a wiring issue A workshop will be able to properly diagnose the fault using the proper tools and technical expertise

Okay thanks a million I appreciate you sharing your experience Turns out it was the power window switch just like I initially suspected Got it replaced and everything is working fine again The repair ended up costing me around 200€ so your initial estimate was spot on
