Grand Voyager Heat Issues: Faulty Flap Blocks Airflow

Thanks for sharing that experience. After getting the error code checked, it was P0532 which apparently relates to the AC pressure sensor. My 182555 KM definitely shows the age of the vehicle. The climate control symptoms match exactly what you described. The ventilation system makes unusual clicking noises when switching modes, and the dashboard panel started showing intermittent errors about 2 weeks ago. All temperature adjustments seem delayed or unresponsive. The blower motor still runs, but heating is minimal and windshield fogging has become a major issue, especially during morning drives. I asked my regular mechanic about it during the last service two months ago, but the problem has gotten significantly worse since then. Given the similar symptoms, I will get the wiring harness checked. 95€ seems reasonable if that fixes the problem. Would you recommend having any other components inspected while they are accessing that area?

Thanks for those additional details about your Grand Voyager. The P0532 code plus your symptoms suggest the issue might be more complex than just the wiring harness in my case. Since we have the same model and my repair experience, I would strongly recommend having them check: 1. The entire HVAC control module, the temperature regulation problems and delayed response point to potential control unit issues beyond just wiring 2. The blend door actuators, those clicking sounds when switching modes often indicate actuator wear, which is common at your mileage 3. The AC pressure sensor, since thats what the P0532 code specifically relates to In my case, while the wiring fix solved the immediate problem, I later had issues with the blend door actuator. Getting it all checked together would have saved me a second repair visit. The blower motor sounds fine based on your description, but proper air circulation depends on all these components working together. Total cost might be higher than my initial repair if multiple components need attention. The full diagnostic check of the climate control system typically runs about 150€, but its worth it to identify all potential issues at once.

I appreciate the thorough advice. After taking my Grand Voyager to the shop this morning, you were right about the multiple issues. The heater core was partially clogged, and the air distribution system had both wiring and actuator problems. The total diagnostic revealed: Faulty blend door actuator causing the clicking sounds, Damaged wire connections in the HVAC unit, Partially blocked heater core affecting heat output, Minor ventilation system leaks The complete repair cost came to 380€, which included: Heater core flush, New actuator, Wiring harness repair, System pressure test While more expensive than initially hoped, the heating now works perfectly and the windshield fogging has completely stopped. The air distribution is much more responsive, and the error code is gone. Really glad I had them check everything while they were in there. The clicking noise is also completely gone when changing modes. Definitely worth the investment to have the entire system checked rather than just fixing one component at a time. Thanks for steering me in the right direction with this.

As someone with some hands-on experience with HVAC systems, I dealt with a very similar issue on my 2011 Chrysler Town & Country. The symptoms were nearly identical, poor climate control performance and error codes on the dash. After taking it to the workshop, they found the root cause was a loose connection in the wiring harness that controls the air distribution flaps. The blower motor was working fine, but the system wasnt properly directing the airflow. This caused issues with both heating and windshield fogging. The fix involved accessing the HVAC control module and repairing the damaged wire connection. Total repair cost was 95€ and took about 2 hours to complete. Since then, the air circulation and heating have worked perfectly. To better assist with your specific case, could you share: The exact error code showing on your dash, Whether you notice any clicking sounds when switching between different air distribution modes, If the issue started suddenly or developed gradually, Whether all climate control panel buttons respond normally This information would help determine if your issue matches what I experienced or if its something different in the system.
