Grandeur AC failure

Hey, I've got a 2016 Hyundai Grandeur, gasoline engine, and my A/C has suddenly stopped working. It's got about 65985 km on it. The air conditioning system doesn't switch on at all, and naturally, it's no longer cooling. I also checked and there's an error stored in the memory. Any ideas? I've checked the basic fuses, but they seem fine.

Summary of the thread

A 2016 Hyundai Grandeur experienced an A/C failure, with the system not switching on and an error stored in memory. Initial checks of basic fuses showed no issues. The problem was identified as a potential HVAC system issue, with suggestions to check the AC relay switch and pressure sensor, considering possible undervoltage due to the original battery. The solution involved replacing the AC relay, resolving the issue and restoring the A/C functionality.

Sounds like a potential issue with the HVAC system. The error code is key here. However, given the symptoms, I'd suggest checking the AC relay switch and the pressure sensor. A faulty relay can prevent the compressor from engaging. Has there been any recent work done on the car's electrical system? Undervoltage issues are quite common on these models.

Undervoltage, huh? No recent electrical work, but the battery is the original one. Where exactly is the AC relay located? Is it difficult to test? Any idea if the pressure sensor is easy to get to?

The AC relay location should be in the main fuse box, usually under the hood. The owner's manual should have a diagram. Testing it requires a multimeter to check for continuity and voltage. The pressure sensor is typically located on one of the A/C lines. Given that there's an error code and the age of the battery, combined with the undervoltage possibility, I strongly advise getting it checked at a workshop. Could save you a lot of time and potential headaches.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to a local shop, and you were right. It was indeed an undervoltage problem. They replaced the AC relay and charged me 240€. Everything's working great again!
