Grandeur Diesel Intake Manifold Flap Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Hyundai Grandeur diesel experienced a significant drop in power, rough engine performance, jerking during acceleration, a loud hissing sound, and increased fuel consumption. These issues were suspected to be related to the intake manifold flap control not functioning properly. A similar case confirmed that the problem was due to a defective intake manifold flap control switch. The issue was resolved by replacing the faulty switch, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Yeah, it does feel like a misfire sometimes, especially at lower RPMs. What exactly went wrong with yours? Was it just the flap itself, or something else in the intake system?

Pretty sure it was the switch for the intake manifold control on mine. Honestly, I didn't mess with it too much myself. Just took it to the shop. They confirmed the issue pretty quickly. Best to get it checked before you cause more damage.

Thanks! I took it to a mechanic, and you were spot on. The intake manifold flap control switch was indeed defective. Cost me 465€ to get it sorted, but at least it's running smoothly again. Appreciate the advice!

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my Grandeur. Reduced power, rough running, all that. Check your intake manifold. That flap control can be a real pain. Does it feel like a misfire when accelerating?
