Grandeur transmission control unit issue
Summary of the thread
The 2010 Hyundai Grandeur is experiencing transmission issues, including unresponsive paddle shifters, unclean gear shifts, grinding noises, slow response, and emergency mode activation. These symptoms, along with stored error codes, suggest a defective transmission control unit (TCU) as the likely cause. The recommended solution is to have the TCU diagnosed and replaced at a workshop, as it may require professional coding to the vehicle.

Yes, it is an automatic. I did check for error codes, and there were several related to the transmission control unit. Is it possible that a defective control unit is the actual reason, although it seems that the affected control unit is defective?

Yep, sounds like the TCU is the culprit. Given the fault codes and symptoms, I'd bet money on it. 'Defective control unit' is textbook. You'll need to take it to a workshop that can diagnose and replace it. Unfortunately, it's not usually a DIY job, as it may need coding to the car. Sorry to be the bearer of expensive news.

Thank you for the information. I appreciate the confirmation. I will bring it to a workshop for repair. It seems the repair cost will be around 1000€.

Sounds familiar! I had similar gearbox issues with my Grandeur. Paddle shifters acting up, slipping gears – real pain. Is it an automatic? The 'emergency mode' you mentioned makes me think it might be the control module, or TCU as some call it. Did you check for any fault codes? Those can be helpful.
