Interesting. So, with your Volvo, did the fault manifest consistently, or was it sporadic like mine? I've run diagnostics, but the error codes are vague, pointing to general ABS malfunction rather than a specific sensor issue. Did you experience the same lack of clarity with the diagnostic codes?

Indeed, the fault in my Volvo was also quite sporadic at first, which made troubleshooting rather challenging. The error codes initially were just as vague, not explicitly pointing to the speed sensor. Given your symptoms and the inconclusive diagnostics, I would strongly suggest a thorough inspection by a qualified workshop. From my experience, it could save you considerable time and potential misdiagnoses.

Thank you for sharing your experience; it's reassuring to know someone else has dealt with something similar. I'll book it into a reputable workshop for a comprehensive assessment. Eventually, it turned out to be a defective control unit, just as suspected from the beginning. Repair cost 1000€

I understand your concern regarding the ABS malfunction in your Vauxhall Grandland X. While my experience is not directly with a Vauxhall, I encountered a similar issue with my previous Volvo V70. The symptoms you describe – ABS lamp, traction control issues, and system failure – sound remarkably familiar. Have you had any diagnostic work done to check the input from the transmission or the odometer reading? In my Volvo I had the same problems because of a defective speed sensor.
