Grandland X Accelerator Pedal Module
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Grandland X with a gasoline engine is experiencing increased fuel consumption and rough starting, potentially due to a faulty throttle valve. A suggestion was made to consider the accelerator pedal module as a possible cause, especially since no error codes were detected. The accelerator pedal module is located near the pedal assembly, and professional assistance is recommended for diagnosis and repair. Ultimately, replacing the accelerator pedal module resolved the issue, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Accelerator pedal module, eh? Interesting. No error codes showed up on my basic OBD scanner. Where exactly is that module located, and how can I check it?

Given the absence of error codes, further diagnostics may prove challenging. The accelerator pedal module typically resides near the pedal assembly within the passenger compartment. However, I strongly suggest consulting a qualified technician, as attempting repairs without proper expertise could potentially exacerbate the issue and lead to further complications. For my Volvo I went to the workshop.

Workshop it is. Turns out it was indeed the accelerator pedal module. New one fitted, cost me 205€. Runs like a dream now. Thanks for the heads up!

I had similar symptoms – rough starting and higher fuel consumption – on my old Volvo V70. In my case, the engine idle was erratic too. Have you checked the accelerator pedal module? A defective accelerator pedal module was the culprit for my Volvo V70. Have you scanned for any error codes?
