Grandland X Brake Fluid Low
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Vauxhall Grandland X is experiencing a brake fluid warning light and a spongy brake pedal, with the fluid level confirmed to be low. Possible causes include leaks in the brake lines or master cylinder, or worn brakes leading to a drop in fluid level. The recommended solution is to inspect for leaks and worn components, and to have the vehicle professionally checked and repaired, as brakes are critical for safety.

Spongy is a good way to describe it. I'll check the brake lines and master cylinder closer. What was it on yours? Was it just worn pads?

It wasn't just pads for me. Turned out my rear calipers were leaking slightly, and I didn't notice at first. I'd get it looked at properly; brakes are not something to mess with. Book it into a workshop. Trust me on this one.

Cheers for the heads up! I had the brakes checked, and you were spot on – worn brakes and a small leak somewhere. Cost me 480€ to get sorted. Appreciate the advice!

I had something similar on my Grandland X. Felt like the pedal was spongy? Check your brake lines for any obvious leaks, and also have a good look at the master cylinder. If it's not leaking, then it could be worn brakes causing the reservoir level to drop.
